Pokhara is one of Nepal’s best destinations for paragliding, combining mountain scenery, lakes, green hills, and a beautiful valley landscape in one unforgettable flight. Your adventure begins with a private vehicle transfer to Sarangkot, one of Pokhara’s most popular paragliding take-off points. From here, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Himalayan range, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu, depending on weather and visibility. After a safety briefing, you’ll take off with a qualified tandem pilot and glide above the hills and valley. During the flight, your pilot manages the paraglider while you enjoy the scenery and the peaceful feeling of flying above Pokhara. The flight offers beautiful views of Phewa Lake, Pokhara Valley, surrounding villages, forests, temples, and monasteries, with the Himalayan mountains forming an impressive backdrop. You may also see birds of prey sharing the thermals around Sarangkot, including Himalayan griffon vultures, eagles, falcons, and kites. Your pilot guides the glider smoothly toward the designated landing area near Phewa Lake. The landing is gentle and usually requires just a few running steps before you are safely back on the ground. Depending on weather and operator conditions, some flights may also offer an optional splash landing on Phewa Lake.

Best Time

The best time for paragliding in Pokhara is generally from October to May, when the weather is more favorable and mountain visibility is often excellent. October to November and March to April are especially popular for clear Himalayan views and good flying conditions. During the monsoon season from June to September, rain, clouds, and changing weather can cause frequent cancellations, so these months are generally not recommended.
