The Poon Hill Ghandruk Short Trek is a highly regarded viewpoint trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal, offering a compact and scenic trekking experience. This trek provides breathtaking views of the Himalayan range and a rich cultural experience through the traditional villages and rhododendron forests. Poon Hill Trek is a short yet amazing trek in Nepal taking you to the magnificent Annapurna Region. The trek takes you to the ethnic Gurung and Magar villages, offering arguably the best sunrise, complimented by the panoramic views of the Himalayas. Passing through places like Ghorepani and Ghandruk, the trek gives you a taste of the local life and stunning views every day. From the lively scenes in Ghorepani to the breathtaking sight at Poon Hill, the trek welcomes anyone who loves adventure and wants to be surrounded by the incredible beauty of the Annapurna region. Poonhill-Ghorepani Jeep Ride or Poonhill Jeep Ride takes you up to Ulleri and further to Banthanthi from where you can directly trek to Ghorepani 3 hours. This jeep drive/ride takes you up to Ghorepani during winter and late autumn but going directly to Poonhill is not good because of the high altitude. Ghorepani (2800 m) and Poonhill (3210m) sometimes may be adverse for the trekkers.
The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek offers two options. The traditional route involves a drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, then trekking to Ulleri and Ghorepani. For those with limited time, you can drive directly to Ulleri and start trekking from there. Both routes lead to Ghorepani, where an early morning hike to Poon Hill offers stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The trek then continues through rhododendron forests to Tadapani and the cultural village of Ghandruk, before returning to Pokhara.
