The Annapurna Luxury Family Trek is a wonderful way to discover Nepal’s Himalayan beauty, traditional villages, and rich local culture without venturing into the extreme altitudes of the Himalayas. Designed especially for families with children, first-time trekkers, and travellers who prefer a more comfortable mountain holiday, this journey combines scenic hiking, beautiful mountain views, peaceful village stays, and authentic Nepalese experiences. Beginning with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, the journey takes you through the beautiful hillside village of Dhampus, the traditional Gurung settlements of Landruk and Ghandruk, the peaceful forests of Tadapani, and the famous mountain village of Ghorepani. The highlight is an early morning hike to Poon Hill, where you can witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Unlike high-altitude treks that require long acclimatization schedules, this journey explores the lower Annapurna region, where green hills, terraced fields, rhododendron forests, traditional stone houses, and welcoming local communities create a memorable Himalayan experience. Although the route stays at relatively moderate elevations compared with major Himalayan base-camp treks, it still includes uphill and downhill walking, and Poon Hill reaches 3,210 metres.

    Useful Info

    Best Time to Trek

The best seasons for the Annapurna Luxury Family Trek are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). We especially recommend April and October for pleasant walking conditions, beautiful landscapes, and clear mountain views. Spring brings colourful rhododendron forests, fresh greenery, and beautiful mountain scenery. April is particularly special for families who want to enjoy Nepal’s natural beauty and capture wonderful memories together. Autumn offers excellent opportunities to enjoy panoramic Himalayan views, generally dry trails, and Nepal’s vibrant festive atmosphere, including Dashain and Tihar.

    Accommodation

We arrange the best mountain lodges available throughout the trek, offering comfortable stays and warm local hospitality in most villages. In Tadapani and Ghorepani, accommodation facilities are more limited, so we provide the best available options according to the season and availability. Breakfast and dinner are served at your accommodation, while lunch is enjoyed at local lodges along the trail. You can experience a variety of Nepali and international-style meals while enjoying different mountain landscapes and village environments. This trek is ideal for families, children, first-time trekkers, and active older travellers seeking beautiful mountain views without the demands of an extreme-altitude trek. However, some sections involve steep stone steps and several hours of walking, and Poon Hill reaches 3,210 metres, so a comfortable pace and regular breaks are important.
