More than just a trek, this is a journey into the soul of Nepal. The customizable Gorkha Homestay Trek offers travellers an authentic blend of village life, cultural immersion, and light Himalayan adventure, far from crowded trails and commercial trekking routes. From the very first day, guests are connected closely with local families, sharing homes, meals, stories, and everyday moments that reflect the true Nepali lifestyle. Each day brings meaningful encounters with villagers, hands-on cultural experiences, and peaceful walks through traditional settlements, allowing travelers to feel the real warmth, love, and simplicity of rural Nepal. Staying within local communities and spending quality time with them creates a deeper, more personal experience than a traditional trek—delivering real village vibes, inner-circle cultural insight, sustainable travel values, and unforgettable human connections in the heart of Nepal. The Gorkha Homestay Trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Bhachek, a traditional village located 163 km from the capital city of Nepal at an elevation of 1750 meters. In Bhachek, you'll be welcomed by your host family, experiencing the warmth of Nepalese hospitality firsthand. The next day, you will trek to Sirandanda. From Bhachek you will visit another beautiful village Namki, before reaching to Sirandanda. Namki is famous for its panoramic views of many villages of Gorkha and Lamjung. If you wish to stay in Namki, there are a lot of local hotels and homestays. On the third day, you'll hike to Nagepokhari, a stunning heart-shaped pond located in Ghyachowk at an altitude of 3250 meters. After three hours of hike, you will reach a beautiful pond called Nagepokhari, covered by beautiful trees. The following day, you will head to Barpak, a village that has been resiliently rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake. Barpak is predominantly inhabited by the Gurung people, known for their rich culture and history with the Gurkha Army. Here, you'll immerse yourself in the Gurung way of life, exploring their customs, traditions, and language.
Continuing the trek, you'll reach Laprak, another village rich in cultural heritage similar to Barpak. The trek culminates at Machakhola, the starting point of the popular Manaslu Circuit Trek. After a fulfilling journey, you'll return to Kathmandu via a 4WD jeep, carrying unforgettable memories of the landscapes, cultures, and communities you've experienced. The Gorkha Homestay Trek not only offers a deep cultural immersion but also supports local communities, promoting sustainable and responsible tourism in the region.
