    Jomsom flights information

The scenic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom is considered one of the most breathtaking mountain flights in Nepal. Within a short duration, travelers experience a remarkable transition in both elevation and landscape as the lush green hills of Pokhara gradually transform into the dramatic, dry Himalayan terrain of the Mustang region. Situated at a much higher altitude than Pokhara, Jomsom welcomes visitors with its unique blend of Tibetan-influenced culture, ancient mountain lifestyle, traditional stone houses, and spectacular views of the Annapurna, nilgiri and Dhaulagiri ranges. The town serves as the main gateway to the sacred Muktinath Temple, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for both Hindus and Buddhists. Due to the challenging mountain weather conditions, flights between Pokhara and Jomsom are not operated throughout the entire year. During the monsoon season and peak winter months, flights are suspended because of poor visibility and strong winds. Therefore, travelers planning a luxury Muktinath journey are highly advised to consult and coordinate with us in advance for proper travel arrangements and updated transportation conditions.

In recent years, the overland route from Pokhara to Jomsom has improved significantly, offering a reliable alternative to air travel. The journey covers approximately 141 kilometers and usually takes around 5–6 hours by private jeep or vehicle, passing through beautiful river valleys, traditional villages, and stunning Himalayan scenery. For the best travel experience, we recommend visiting Muktinath during the spring season (March to May) and autumn season (September to November). These months offer stable weather, clearer mountain views, smoother transportation, and ideal conditions for both pilgrimage and adventure travel in the Himalayan region of Nepal.
