Sundarijal to Dhulikhel trekking in Nepal is a short and easy trek commencing a few kilometers from the north of Kathmandu along the valley rim through Sundarijal and then east to Nagarkot via Chisopani. After breakfast at your hotel, we will drive you to the trek starting point at Sundarjial on the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley. Sundarijal is one of the entry points of Nagarjun-Shivapuri National Park. The area is rich in water resources. We walk on the well-maintained stone trail often criss-crossed by jeep tracks. The trail is completely in the wilderness beyond Mulkharka village. Chisapani is a beautiful village situated on a ridge top. The village is a meeting point of three districts Kathmandu, Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk and offers superb mountain views.
We resume our walk after breakfast. Chisapani offers you views of green hills and snow-capped mountains far in the horizon. The trail passes through the beautiful countryside offering you an insight into the daily life of local people. Meet farmers toiling in the field, children going to school and elderies taking a siesta. The trail is easy initially but requires an uphill climb in the latter half of the day. Upon arrival in Nagarkot, check into your hotel. Nagarkot is a popular hill station in the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley. Enjoy the view of the setting sun.
Today’s walk is mostly downhill as we descend to the culturally rich Newari town of Dhulikhel. The walk offers breathtaking mountain views. Enjoy nature as you descend to Dhulikhel. Despite being so close to Kathmandu Valley, villages seem so traditional. It will be a new experience for you to watch people using ancient farming techniques even though farm mechanization is a normal thing in Western world. The walk takes around six hours. Upon arrival in Dhulikhel, after taking some rest then drive back to Kathmandu.
