Chandragiri-Champadevi Hiking is the best one-day hike to do in Kathmandu. Despite the huge traffic and busy city life, Kathmandu provides one of the best spots to go on hiking. It is none other than the Chandragiri-Champadevi Hiking Trail. Chandragiri is a great religious destination for Nepalis with extra flair provided by the most exquisite view of the whole Kathmandu Valley.
From Chandragiri continue walking up to Bhasmasur ridge for 1½ hours. Bhasmasur ridge (2,500 m) is the highest altitude viewpoint that provides an attractive view of both valleys (Kathmandu and Kulekhani with Himalayan range) Continuing the day hike with the forest and the views of Kathmandu on your left makes the hike even more worthwhile. The hike continues towards the Pharping Monastery crossing Hattiban Resort. A drive back to the hotel is the end of the amazing Chandragiri Trip.

After breakfast in the hotel, drive to Chandragiri Hill cable car station and ride a cable car, Chandragiri hill is famous for its breathtaking Himalayan views and a picture-perfect panoramic perspective of the Kathmandu valley. On the mountaintop sits the Bhaleshwara Mahadev temple, which is for the devotee of Lord Shiva. After 4-5 hours walk in the forests with fresh air and sweet melodies, you reach the top of Champadevi. From there, you descend down to Pushpa Lal Park with great views of the mountains and Kirtipur city. A short drive from the park concludes back at Kathmandu. The hike is mesmerizing in every season, while autumn and spring seasons are the best ones. The total hours of Hiking are 5 to 6 hours.

Trip Note:
Champadevi Chandragiri is a day hike. You don't have to pack many things. We suggest you pack some chocolate bars, a camera, a windbreak jacket, and a waterproof jacket just in case of rain. There are several rest stops and viewpoints along the trail to Champadevi where you can take a breather, capture photos, and enjoy the scenery. The Champadevi and Chandragiri summits also offer spots to rest and take in the views.
