Useful Info

Before embarking on rafting, there are a few essential things you should have.

Appropriate Clothing: Wear comfortable and quick-drying clothing suitable for water activities. Lightweight and breathable materials like synthetic fabrics or nylon are recommended. Avoid cotton as it tends to retain moisture and can make you feel cold and uncomfortable.

Footwear: Choose sturdy river sandals or water shoes that provide good traction and can protect your feet. Avoid flip-flops or barefoot rafting for safety reasons.

Life Jacket: Ensure you have a well-fitting life jacket. It is a crucial safety item that will keep you afloat in the water in case of an accident. Make sure it is properly secured and fastened before entering the raft.

Helmet: Wear a properly fitted helmet to protect your head from potential hazards during rafting. Make sure it is secured and snugly fits on your head.

Sun Protection: Use sunscreen on your skin to protect from harmful UV rays. Wear a hat or a cap and consider wearing UV-protective sunglasses to shield your eyes from the sun's glare.

Water and Snacks: Carry an adequate supply of drinking water to stay hydrated during the rafting trip. Pack some energy-rich snacks like granola bars or fruits to keep your energy levels up.

Dry Bag or Waterproof Container: It is advisable to bring a waterproof bag or container to keep your personal belongings, such as cameras, phones, and extra clothing, safe and dry during the rafting adventure.

Knowledge of Swimming: While it's not a strict requirement, having basic swimming skills can be beneficial in case you end up in the water during the rafting trip. However, the presence of trained guides and safety measures ensures that non-swimmers can also enjoy rafting.

Remember to check the specific requirements and recommendations provided by the rafting company you choose, as they may have additional guidelines or equipment to provide for your safety. Always follow the instructions of your rafting guide and prioritize safety throughout the adventure.
